The Newtonian Shift 2.0

The Newtonian Shift 2.0 is an immersive serious game that plunges participants into the dynamics of the energy transition. Set on Edison Island, the last bastion untouched by pollution, it serves as the final haven for "mainlanders." Players embody various factions: cities on Edison Island, technology firms, and traditional energy suppliers. Their objective is to navigate multiple years within the game, ensuring adequate energy provision and a comfortable life for Edison Island's inhabitants.

A lead facilitator, supported by two co-facilitators and a union representative, guides the game, accommodating group sizes ranging from 14 to 25 players. I've assumed roles as both co-facilitator and lead facilitator for this engaging simulation. The game culminates in a debrief session where participants reflect on the game's progression, their own actions, and draw parallels with real-world scenarios. It's a captivating and dynamic experience that consistently leaves players astounded by the insights it provides into the complexities of the energy transition.
