Changing Childhood

To gain deeper insights into the evolving landscape of childhood today, UNICEF collaborated with Gallup Inc. to conduct an global survey. This comprehensive study delves into the perspectives of younger generations worldwide. Spanning 21 countries, the survey engaged 22,043 participants. To transform the extensive survey findings into compelling narratives, UNICEF enlisted the expertise of CLEVER°FRANKE. Our task was to craft an immersive, user-friendly experience that would convey the survey's key themes and insights.

Drawing inspiration from current internet usage patterns, particularly among teenagers, our design principles centered on creating an engaging platform. Recognizing that internet activities often involve browsing enjoyable, easily digestible content, we aimed to present the survey results in a captivating, upbeat, and motivational manner. The resulting platform offers an immersive journey through the survey's insights, tailored to resonate with the scrolling habits and preferences of today's youth.

The microsite is available in ten different languages and is paired with a comprehensive report. Our efforts in optimizing the platform's performance extend to enabling full accessibility even in low-bandwidth areas and on slower devices. Furthermore, we've crafted multiple social media promotional videos to accompany the launch. The platform received coverage in more than ten prominent news outlets, like the New York Times. Leading to almost 800.000 unique visitors within the first month. Additionally, it won three Red Dot Design Awards and a European Design Award.

In my role as product owner, I guided the project from initial commencement to launch. Collaborating closely with a dedicated team of designers and developers, I upheld the project's strategic direction, established key priorities, and navigated challenging discussions and decisions. Within a given budget and timespan, we iterated successfully to the launch of the platform.
