Cyber Security Platform

For a leading cyber security company, CLEVER°FRANKE was asked to design and develop a comprehensive digital platform. The platform provides their clients with an holistic overview of their cyber security exposure and risk management. Main target audiences are the the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and security practitioner, helping them transition from proactive to predictive cybersecurity approaches.

The platform is structured around thee key views; Exposure View, Asset Inventory, and Attack Path. The Exposure View contains a collection exposure cards, both automated and manually generated, showing the cyber security exposure at a glance for a specific set of assets. This view allows for deeper analysis via several configurable widgets. The Asset Inventory serves as the foundation, where users can access and configure individual assets through an easy-to-use tagging system. The Attack Path view allows for the examination and exploration of potential attack routes among selected assets. Additionally, the platform supports seamless collaboration through commenting and sharing features, along with the capability to produce detailed reports for external use.

In my capacity as product owner, I initiated the project with a small team of three, scaling up to a team of 15 people in a few weeks time. In addition, several teams from the client side were involved, including data science, data engineering, backend development, and marketing. As deadlines were short, we ran the research, design and development tracks in parallel. It was my responsibility to set out the product vision in close collaboration with the client and internal team, manage complex dependencies, set priorities, and drive required decision making. In just five months, we rolled out the platform's first version. Over the following six months, we iteratively enhanced and expanded it, towards the public launch.
