Patterns of Cairo
Megawra, an architectural firm specialized in conservation and heritage management, and the Dutch embassy in Cairo, set out a request for proposals. The request was aimed at designing and implementing an open-source digital platform. The platform's primary goal was to provide scholars, designers, and artisans easy access to stories, images, vector files, and detailed data on the diverse patterns found in Historic Cairo.
In my role as strategy and business developer, I led the proposal phase for CLEVER°FRANKE. Listening carefully to the requirement and ambitions, and taking the constraints into account, we managed to deliver the winning pitch.
A key phase of the project involved my travel to Cairo to conduct an interactive workshop. During this workshop we presented our vision, gathered feedback, build the sitemap and prioritized the list of features into a comprehensive roadmap. In addition, we met with local designers and craftsman and explored Cairo, under guidance of Megawra, to learn and better understand the richness and background of the cultural heritage.
