Marx & Steketee

Beyond my regular academic curriculum, I secured a six-month internship at the architectural firm Marx & Steketee. M&S, a medium-sized firm, was in the final stages of expanding its reach into European procurements. Known for their meticulous designs, the firm placed a strong emphasis on materialization and intricate detailing. My internship coincided with a tumultuous period in the architectural industry due to the crisis, impacting M&S significantly. However, despite the challenges, it proved to be an immensely enriching experience.

During this tenure, I contributed to various projects, engaged in a design competition, and conducted extensive research on the development and design of community schools. Additionally, I conscientiously honed my skills—focusing on personal presentation, comprehending the dynamics of the building industry, mastering software packages, among other competencies—while also gaining valuable insights into the workings of an architectural firm.
